The Portneuf Gap Project exists to bring our community together to help bridge the gap for those in our community who are facing financial disaster due to major medical issues.
When major medical issues arise, even the best-intentioned people can get caught off guard. Issues such as: insufficient medical insurance, a care-giver having to quit their job or a second residence having to be maintained in another town so families can be close to the hospital can all quickly drain resources a family may have had in place.
Our goal is to help families that find themselves in this situation. They are dealing with an enormous amount of stress, without struggling to keep out of bankruptcy or lose their home.
It is also our goal to rally the community that these individuals are a part of with the idea that if a lot of people bring a little bit of their resources, then together the impact on the need can be huge.
Finally, we want to highlight the local businesses in our community that are stepping up and supporting the efforts of The Portneuf Gap Project and helping the families in need.
Like an old fashioned barn-raising our community can come together and build
a bridge to cover the gap. Like a good Samaritan, we can step in when there is
a need to help our neighbor simply because they are our neighbor. We can
each bring a little bit and together make a huge difference. |
